M&A transaction in regard to WiFi Map project was finalized
Aleinikov&Partners advised the Belarusian founder of WiFi Map in the M&A transaction, connected to his exit from the project. The lawyers of A&P structured the transaction and fulfilled preparation and coordination of the documents on the project.
WiFi Map LLC develops and promotes the same-named mobile app that crowdsources information about free WiFi hotspots. The application for iOS and Android was installed on more than 30 mln mobile phones. It provides access to the DB, which includes 6 mln WiFi hotspots all around the world.
The Aleinikov&Partners team on the transaction was led by Dmitry Matveev, the firm's partner.
The consortium of partners, including Ernst&Young, Ernst&Young Legal Services and Aleinikov&Partners law firm was chosen by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and the National Agency of Investment and Privatization to be a consultant on implementation of the Pilot Privatization Project in regard to OJSC «Minsk Margarine Plant» and confectionery «Konfa» (OJSC).
Denis Aleinikov took the lead on legal defence of Blitz Team in a dispute with Wargaming, publisher and developer of the world-famous game World of Tanks. Five lawsuits have been brought to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus against Blitz Team employees (former employees of Wargaming’s Minsk office) being sued for US$1.69 million altogether for violating Wargaming's exclusive rights while working on the Open Source project
Aleinikov & Partners has been advised Infrafund RVC, a managing partner of the Russian-Belarusian Venture Investment Fund founded with participation of the Russian Venture Company, in connection with seed financing of the Belarusian startup RocketData. The round brings total funding in the startup up to $500K while the deal represents the first-ever application of instruments of “English law” introduced by the Presidential Decree on Development of Digital Economy for structuring
